put a cork in it

Blake was sent home from preschool in a Pull-up yesterday and a fresh pair of pants, after peeing all over himself during nap time. I'm now to bring him to preschool in said Pull-ups until he's really and truly trained (through the night and naps).

He pooped his pants a tiny bit today, followed by the rest of it in the potty. I can't decide if I should bribe him, reward him, discipline him, or drink more beer and buy stock in Pampers.

Adele,

I'm surprised that his school reacted so strongly to an "accident." He is in preschool where they should be understanding of that age level development. Are you not supposed to ever have "accidents" or slip ups? That makes me sad for Blake. How humiliating to have to wear a pull up now.

Hey Marci!
I think it's the sheer number of accidents he's had in recent weeks that just have them tired of dealing with biohazard. They moved him up a level because he was largely potty-trained pre-Christmas. He's not supposed to be in the class he's in now if not trained (and the teacher won't let the principal move him down, which I LOVE)... but yeah. It's pretty much a huge pain in the ass.

Still, if humiliation gets him potty-trained, then I will join them cheerfully and do damage control later. Excuse me while I clean out the poopy britches now. :( Seriously.

Everybody poops.

I would go for the beer and Pampers. When he gets old enough he can wear the adult version.

Beer, Pampers, and Poop. Sounds like a night with the guys...

Sounds beer-tastic!
I say draw the line when he hits 13..that whole changing his pants thing...just...awkward.

Someone told me something with Jake and I am applying the philosophy with Maddy (since she is 4.5 and still doesn't have a completely "dry" day) and that is. . . It will happen eventually, you never see a senior in highschool still in diapers.
{shrug} you can make yourself crazy worrying about it, trust me I know! I may be crazy even now

You have enough on your plate right now... my vote also goes to beer and pampers. Better yet, margaritas and pampers.

We tried bribery with Kaleb. He would rush to sqeeze out anything that would get him a treat. The hard part was convincing him he did NOT need a treat every time he used the toilet.
